Heather Ansari, Registered Psychologist
I bring a thoughtful, compassionate approach to counselling with adults, couples, and families. I believe in the counselling process and the benefits that come from a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.
I have experience helping people with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, hoarding, life and role transitions, adult child relationships, effects of health concerns, caregiving, counselling for people living with a dementia, and ageing.
I create a non-judgmental space where I ask questions to understand you – your needs, strengths, and challenges – and help you create positive change at your pace.

Poppywise Psychology is located on ancient lands at the confluence of the Elbow and Bow rivers, a place referred to by the Blackfoot as Moh’kinstis, the Tsuut’ina as Guts’ists’i and the Îethka Stoney Nakoda as Wîcîspa. Until recently, these lands were lived on and cared for exclusively by people indigenous to this place. With gratitude and reciprocity, we acknowledge the relationships to the land of the Siksika Nation, Piikani Nation and Kainai Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy, the Tsuut’ina Nation, the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney Nations of the Iethka Stoney Nakoda, and the Otipemisiwak Métis (Districts 5 and 6). Having benefitted from Treaty 7, Poppywise Psychology strives to become a respectful and supportive community member, engaging in activities beneficial to Indigenous peoples, committing to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and applying the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, including learning about and implementing ways to decolonize our therapy.
